I've known Ann since the 80's when our lives crossed paths working in a department store in downtown Louisville. We had a lot of laughs and fun together and helped one another cope with issues by talking about them and exploring ways to resolve them. I was very impressed with Ann's listening skills, her gentle, loving, non-judgmental manner balanced by objective analysis, and her exploration of solutions. I hope I was as helpful to her. I told, Ann, that I thought she would make a good counselor/therapist. Sure enough, she made her dream come true by going back to school. She has been doing therapy ever since. Parental Alienation is a form of mental child abuse where one parent influences their child/children against the other parent, leading to a broken parent-child bond.  This happened to me over 4 years ago.  Though Jefferson Family Court appointed mental health professionals to provide "reunification therapy" for my son and I, none where successful and did not understand parental alienation.  As a parent grieving the loss of a child who was still living but taught to hate and reject me, I needed a therapist who truly understood parental alienation and the effect it has on a parent living with the loss and grief.  I was fortunate to connect with Ann. Ann was knowledgeable of Parental Alienation, knew the latest therapist working in this specialized field, provided relevant information and resources, and helped me through the most difficult times dealing with the transition of being an actively involved parent to being totally estranged from my son,  all while the family courts and court appointed therapists allowed this condition to worsen.  I still experience the pain of the estrangement but Ann helped me through the roughest times and I am extremely grateful for her professional assistance. I highly recommend Ann as a therapist to help other parents being alienated from their children. Thank you, Ann!
